Yummy Protein Bars

I've become obsessed with telling people about these homemade protein bars. They are really good, very natural, and fairly easy to make.

.5 cup oatmeal (we used dry rolled oats, not the instant kind)
.5 cup whole wheat flour or oat bran (we used whole wheat flour)
6 scoops vanilla protein powder (we use a blend from Costco, but you can use whey, soy, etc.)
1 cup non-fat dry milk
2 tbsp flaxseeds (we used golden)
2 tbsp sunflower seeds (or we used extra flax seeds)
.25 cup unsalted mixed nuts (chopped)
.25 cup dried fruit (we used strawberried cranberries)
1/3 cup natural peanut butter (no sugar!)
2 tsp vanilla
.5 cup water

Combine oatmeal, oat bran, protein powder, dry milk powder, seeds, nuts, and dried fruit in a bowl. Stir in natural peanut butter, vanilla and water until moist and spread with a wooden spoon or spatula into a non-stick baking dish. Place in the fridge for an hour until firm. After they are firm, I cut them into 16 bars and store them in the fridge (I find they stay together better that way).

Nutritional information (approximate, based on 16 bars per batch):
100 calories
5 g fat
5.5 g carbs
4 g sugar
9 g protein

I haven't gotten the chance to figure out the cost per bar, but I will post it when I do. I'm sure it's less than buying prepackaged granola or protein bars! Hope you enjoy... :-)
